Luzern We Went

Rainy Evening

Today's weather was rainy then sunny then rainy then sunny then rainy when we headed out for a drive. You can see the rest of the photos, here.

An amazing drive home

Jachen keeps surprising me with more and more beautiful drives. And they are just drives on the way home taking a different road. This is by far my favorite. Saturday night we went out and when we headed home we went home in a way that brought us up, around and behind the mountain that is behind our home. It was a breathtaking drive. I wish you could see it in real life instead of through my dinky Itouch camera I had with me. WHEN you come visit us, we will for SURE take you on this drive and you will see such beautiful rolling hills that go on forever.

This view right here, just to the left is AMAZING. It didn't capture well enough in the photo I took so I will have to attempt another time to get a better photo.  Just to the left of this you can see hill after hills which then turns into mountains.

Lake Walensee

On Sunday, Jachen and I went on a much needed drive. He said he had a place in mind that he had been to while in the Army...he drove tanks there. An hour later we arrived at Lake Walensee, SO beautiful. We searched for a place to sit near the water and found the perfect spot. The lake is such a beautiful blue and the huge mountains that dip right into the water are stunning. I wish you could see them in person. When you come visit us, we will take you there....and hopefully it is summer/warm so you can enjoy the lake more. We sat there next to the crashing waves for a couple hours watching sailboats, a wind sailer, canoer, passenger boat, and a few other boats travel pass us. There was a beautiful breeze and warm air. It was perfect. We just wished we packed a lunch or dinner(but luckily I brought chips and suckers). Next time.

We went through many tunnels on our way, but one of them was sooo long. It was so cool to think we were crossing under the huge mountain.

Then we came out of the huge tunnel to see this!

I was't sure if the sign is saying don't go swimming, or don't wear Speedos while swimming.

The wind was sticking his hair straight up, yet another reminder I needed to cut his hair.

It seems windier than it was and the sun rays only look like rain.


On our way home we stopped at the Monastery pictured in the very first photo of this post. I had seen it before and every time I see it I have wanted to go to it. So on our way home, Jachen and I found the street that lead to the Monastery and we parked and walked around the grounds. The view this place has is gorgeous.

We think this is where the Monks sit out and tan for the summer.

A great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
